Booking

Our Core Curriculum (Handgun, Shotgun, Carbine & Sniper) and Specialty Classes are held on weekends and are either 1 or 2 days long depending on the class.  These weekend classes run from either 9:00AM – 4:00PM or 3:00PM – 10:00PM depending on the class.

Our live-fire Private Lessons (the private equivalent of our weekend classes) are held on weekdays, Monday – Friday and are 3 hours long.  Start times are flexible.  Call our office for scheduling and we will look at the calendar to accommodate your needs.

Our private Simulator lessons are conducted 7 days per week and are 2 hours long.  Start times are flexible.  Call our office for scheduling and we will look at the calendar to accommodate your needs.

We do not accept walk-ins.  All of our training, whether it be weekend classes or Private Lessons must be scheduled in advance.

We recommend booking as far out as you can confidently commit to the training date!

For weekend classes, which typically fill up, we suggest booking no later than 3-4 weeks prior to the class if you want to make sure to secure a spot.  For anyone who plans on coming to a weekend class with a group, or is traveling from out of state, we recommend at least 60 days prior to play it safe.  But you are more than welcome to try and book a class online or contact us at any point up to 7 days prior to the class to see if there are open spots.

NOTE: We close classes for bookings 1 week prior to the start date and will not allow bookings after that point.

Private Lessons are like weekend class in terms of demand, so try to plan ahead.  You can contact us at any time to inquire about getting in for a lesson, but generally you want to plan at least a few weeks in advance.

For Simulator lessons, you can also book well in advance, but times are more flexible and you can often get in for a lesson the same week!

Absolutely!  You can book a class for yourself and others or just for others both online and over the phone.

NOTE: We will need the full names, phone numbers and email addresses for anyone who is being booked for a class, please make sure to have them in advance.

Private Lessons are typically up to 5 students, but we can support as many people as you would like to include. Even if it’s a large group we can still set up a Private Lesson that is exclusive to your group and we will have additional staff on our end to keep the ratio where we want it and so that everyone gets individual attention.

We really enjoy working with kids and seniors, but we do have age restrictions that dictate what type of training students can partake in. These guidelines will be strictly adhered to:

15-17 years*:  May attend a private lesson with a parent or guardian (no group classes) and may only shoot firearms owned by the parent or guardian.  This is not training like an adult would receive, it’s about firearms safety, safe gun handling and marksmanship. Please note that this is at our discretion, and we ask that you contact us to discuss.

18-20 years*:  May attend a private lesson or a group class with a parent or guardian, but may only shoot with firearms owned by the parent or guardian.

21-69 years:  May attend private lessons and/or group classes and may also rent firearms from us for training purposes.

70+ years:  May attend a private lesson (no group classes).  We don’t ever mean to offend anyone, please trust our judgement on this.  Our classes are 7 hours long, usually for two straight days on a weekend, and they can be very strenuous.  Our primary focus is always our student’s safety, and we take every precaution to maintain that. If you are over 70, please call our office and we would be happy to discuss a private training regime that will suit your needs.

If you have any further questions about age restrictions, please contact us!

*NOTE:  We cannot rent firearms to anyone under the age of 21, no exceptions!

We have many students come to us from all over the world, and we love making new friends. However, we have certain requirements for those who are not U.S. citizens. International students must do the following:

  1. Email us a valid (not expired) copy of your current passport (and bring that passport with you to class) and valid (not expired) driver’s license.
  2. Complete our new student application.
  3. Email admin@internationaltactical.com with a brief written statement as to why you would like to attend the specific training you are requesting.

We accept all major credit cards as payment.

We accept business checks as payment from agencies, but all checks must clear at least 2 weeks prior to the start of training.

  1. If it is your first time training with ITTS, then you will need to submit a New Student Application.
  2. If you are a repeat student then you won’t need to submit anything until you receive a check-in email 10 days prior to class and submit the 2 online waivers – you will receive links to the online waivers in the check-in email.
  3. On the day of training you will meet at the designated check-in area with a valid photo ID and QR code you will have received after you submitted the Range Waiver.

You can CLICK HERE to find all of the details for our New Student Application, Online Waivers and Check-in Process.

We do not provide refunds.  If something comes up and you need to reschedule your class we will be happy to help accommodate you.  Please make sure to review all the details of our Policies HERE.

Training

We are not a public range where you can just drop in.  All of our training, whether it’s a group class on the weekend or a Private Lesson during the week, is scheduled ahead of time.

Please visit our Locations page for details.

Our classes range in size based on a number of factors.  Some classes we keep on the smaller side due to the nature of the class and may be 8-10 students.  But most of our group weekend classes we cap at 24 students.  On average, you can expect your class to be around 12-18 students for a weekend group class.  We keep a strict 1:6 staff to student ratio, so we will always have plenty of staff on hand to provide guidance and keep a very safe learning environment.

We keep a strict 1:6 staff to students in all classes.  Sometimes we have even more staff than that on hand depending on the class.

Please visit Our Team page for details.

Please be realistic about your ability to participate in a specific course.  You will be asked to sign a waiver stating that you are in good physical condition and able to complete the course that you are attending.  If you are not in the best physical shape or have any conditions that might compromise your safety or that of others, please let us know immediately.

A few of our classes are just too strenuous for some students based on physical condition and/or age and we will be glad to recommend a class that might better suit you.

We will always provide enough breaks to get people off their feet and get a breather.  We understand that many people aren’t used to this kind of training that usually lasts 7 hours long.  While we like to put on challenging courses, ultimately your safety is our first concern and we do everything we can to provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable learning experience!

For new shooters, or those who are new to formal training like ours, we always recommend you begin with our Handgun 1 class.  In that class you will learn about shooting fundamentals, which will translate to any other class, with any other firearm that you take at our school.  You will also be learning how to conduct yourself in this type of training format in a safe and professional manner, which is key to progress through our classes.

See the question above or visit our Handgun 1 page for further details.

Our range reaches out to 1,200 yards!  That doesn’t mean in every Carbine and Sniper class you shoot to that distance, the distance you shoot to is class dependent.

We have a variety of targets that are utilized across all of our classes.  Many of our targets were fabricated just for us and are very dynamic, such as our Moving Target, Hostage Rack, and Knife Attack System.  We also have a Shoot House and a numerous reactive steel targets and of course paper targets.

Photos are fine as long as when you are taking photos it does not disrupt the training.  We disallow recording video or sound in our classes for a variety of reasons.  One such reason is that many ITTS instructors testify in court as experts and we are very careful about what goes online as it could become discovery in a court case they are working on.

Equipment

Absolutely!  We have firearms available to rent for all of our classes, even precision rifles for our sniper classes.  When you rent from us you will receive a full rental package that includes: the firearm, all necessary associated equipment (ear and eye protection, a holster and magazine pouch, etc.) as well as ammunition for your training.

We do not sell any firearms.  However, please refer to our Industry Partners page where we can help point you in the right direction!

We don’t sell ammunition to those who are bringing their own firearm to class, they will need to supply their own.  If you need help figuring out where to purchase ammunition, please visit our Industry Partners page where we can help point you in the right direction!

We only provide ammunition to students who are renting firearms from us for the sole purpose of training.

Each class is unique in terms of what equipment is required.  Please make sure to refer to the specific class page for the class you are interested in for more information.

In general, in addition to class specific equipment, we always recommend bringing the following to weekend group classes or Private Lessons:

  • Dress properly
      • Dress in layers to you can adjust for changing weather conditions
      • Wear close toed shoes
      • No low-cut shirts
      • Loose fitting pants with pockets are ideal, cargo pants are great!
      • Wear a hat
      • If you are attending Handgun training you MUST wear a belt!
      • Bring sunglasses (or clear glasses when training at night)
    • Water, lots of water!
  • Bring a sack lunch/dinner
    • We don’t have a microwave or refrigerator at the range so keep that in mind.  Many students bring a small cooler.
    • It’s also a good idea to bring some simple snacks to keep yourself energized throughout the day.
  • Bring a little bit of extra ammo.  It never hurts to have too much, but not having enough can really slow things up.
  • Sunscreen

Location

Yes, in order to check in at the range prior to your class or private lesson you will have to present a valid government photo ID.

If you are not a US resident you will have to bring your passport and there will be other requirements as well.  Non-US residents should contact our office for further details.

Distance from the Brentwood:  25 minutes (23 miles)

Distance from the Beverly Hills:  34 minutes (27 miles)

Distance from Hollywood:  25 minutes (21 miles)

Distance from the Calabasas:  30 minutes (28 miles)

Distance from Burbank Airport (BUR):  21 minutes (11 miles)

Distance from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX):  41 min (38 miles)

Thankfully, our range is very accessible from most anywhere in the greater Los Angeles area (see the question above) so that opens up endless options for hotels.  If proximity to the range is a priority, then we recommend looking at hotels in Burbank, CA.  But otherwise, anywhere from Santa Monica to Hollywood would work well and be a great area to stay in for other things to do in addition to training with us!

Absolutely!  We have students do that all of the time.

Unfortunately, we do not sell food, nor do we have a microwave or refrigerator at the range because it is an outdoor facility.  We suggest packing a sack lunch (or dinner if it’s a night class).  Many people bring small coolers if they need to keep something cold.

It’s California so thankfully a majority of the year it’s really beautiful weather!  But in the winter we do have a few rainy days here and there and during the summer it can get hot.  We always recommend checking the weather ahead of your class so you can wear weather appropriate clothing.

In the winter we suggest dressing in layers and in the summer we recommend long sleeves, but light clothing and a hat.
