Class Overview
If you’ve just purchased your first carbine, or are considering it, Carbine 1 is where you begin. There is a LOT of information to take in regarding the setup and use of a modern carbine and our curriculum is designed to make that endeavor seamless for you. We cover gear recommendations, rifle marksmanship, zeroing procedures, malfunction drills, maintenance, shooting to distance, and so much more!

- Target engagement out to 500 yards
- Multiple target engagement

Equipment
If you are new to carbine training and have your own rifle or will be purchasing one before class, we highly recommend you read our blog article Carbines For New Shooters. It will provide you with a detailed roadmap for getting your rifle set up well for our classes!
- Rifle caliber carbine with a barrel at least 16″ (This class is not designed for short barrel nor pistol caliber carbines, neither will be allowed in class)
- Sling (1 or 2 point will both work, but 2 point is recommended for reasons to be discussed in class)
- At least 3 spare magazines
- Optics (Optional… iron sights will suffice, but a red-dot sight with a flip-up 3X magnifier or a suitable scope is recommended). Make sure to bring any tools required to make adjustments to your optics!
- Cleaning kit (optional)
- 300 rounds
*Rental firearms are available for every class we offer, but we do need to know ahead of time in order to have one ready for you. Please make sure to indicate your need to rent a firearm when you sign up for a class.

Prerequisites:
If you have not completed the prerequisite class with ITTS, but you have prior formal training that was recent and comprable in both subject matter and duration, contact us to discuss your candidacy for this class. Your prior training will need to have been from a qualified and verifiable source that meets our school’s standards.
LEO & Miltary may be exempt from this prerequisite. Contact us to discuss.
