Subjects Covered:

This is an intensive two- day course. It is designed for the realistic expectation of a singular or two-man response to an active shooter.

Response times, deployed personnel and other mitigating factors will most probably be the dictating forces behind a low number response. The course will include a combined lecture of tactics, theories, firing solutions, response mechanisms, communications and the physiological and psychological factors faced by the first responder. An experienced professional will conduct a segment addressing severe trauma emergencies.

One day intensive live fire rifle training will be incorporated to allow the participant/police officer to be able to solve complex firing solutions. A second day will be devoted to cold runs from response to contact to resolution in a simmunitions format. Other factors covered during the course will include weapons selection, attendant gear, weapons and gear set up, and rapid deployment to known or unknown threats.

Equipment needed:

  • Carbine with sling (Optics strongly recommended)
  • Pistol
  • Spare magazines for both pistol and carbine
  • Duty rig
  • Eye and ear protection
