Home Defense 2
Class Overview
Home Defense 2 has been one of our most highly requested classes! This course will allow students learn about and train in low light conditions in a home environment in order to defend themselves and loved ones. We will test various flashlights, effective techniques for using them, when and how to operate in the dark, moving through thresholds, room clearing and much more!
Students will learn how to safeguard their homes, assist family members in an emergency, and deal with a home invasion.
Class will be held at an offsite location where we will conduct a variety of home invasion scenarios. Students will have to think on their feet to effectively identify and address the problem. Simunitions will be used – this is NOT a live fire class.
Subjects
Review from Home Defense 1:
- Lecture and discussion about Use of Force laws
- Setting up your home to deter intruders
- Identifying ‘soft’ points in the home
- Effective utilization of home interior layouts
- Non-firearms related equipment to keep at home
New Subjects:
- Employing a variety of flashlight techniques, when and why to use them
- Operating in darkness
- Low light challenges
- Effective mechanics in complex environments
- Methods of movement when alone and/or with others
- Working through thresholds
- Room to room engagement Level 2
- Effective engagement of intruders Level 2
Equipment
- All simunitions, sims guns and related gear will be provided by ITTS
- Flashlights – You may bring one or multiple so you have the opportunity to determine which you prefer
- Pen and notepad
- CLEAR eye protection
- Dress in layers
- Dinner and water
- DO NOT BRING ANY FIREARMS TO CLASS – If you are a CCW holder please make alternative plans for your handgun as it will not be allowed inside the house for safety reasons.

Prerequisites:
If you have not completed the prerequisite classes with ITTS, but you have prior formal training that was recent and comparable in both subject matter and duration, contact us to discuss your candidacy for this class. Your prior training will need to have been from a qualified and verifiable source that meets our school’s standards.
LEO & Military may be exempt from this prerequisite. contact us to discuss.

Yes! We have a house in Tarzana, CA available to us for this class.
Getting hit with simunitions is similar to getting hit with a paintball. You will be wearing a protective facemask and neck guard and as long as you dress in layers there’s nothing to worry about.
