Class Overview
Thinking about buying or building an AR-style carbine but feeling overwhelmed by all the choices? Basic Carbine Rifle Setup is the perfect starting point. With no universal “standard” setup, selecting the right rifle, optic, light, sling, and grip can quickly become a guessing game—and an expensive one at that.
This class cuts through the confusion. We’ve dialed in several proven configurations that balance performance with personal preference You’ll get hands-on experience with a variety of gear so you can make smart decisions before spending a dime.
Whether you already own a carbine or are just beginning your journey, this course will give you the confidence to build a rifle that actually works for you.

- Optics, including how to zero your optics

- CA Compliance
Equipment
- Your personal rifle (optional)*
- Any rifle accessories you’ve already purchased (optional)*
- Notepad and pen
- Eye and ear protection (ITTS staff will discuss and demo proper zeroing of a rifle, which is why eye and ear pro is necessary)
- Water and lunch
*This class is intended to provide guidance on choosing and installing the right carbine rifle and accessories. However, ITTS staff will not be installing equipment for students on their own rifles. Student’s may bring any of their own gear to inquire with ITTS staff about their specific setup and if there is time we can assist at our discretion.

Prerequisites:
If you have not completed the prerequisite class with ITTS, but you have prior formal training that was recent and comparable in both subject matter and duration, contact us to discuss your candidacy for this class. Your prior training will need to have been from a qualified and verifiable source that meets our school’s standards.
LEO & Miltary may be exempt from this prerequisite. Contact us to discuss.
