This class focuses on getting students up to speed using a red dot sight on their pistol. Ideal for students who are brand new to red dot sights as well as those who may have some experience with them, but still need to learn how to achieve the best performance and avoid common mistakes from their RDS. When set up, maintaned and deployed properly, the red dot sight can provide a distinct advantage for many shooters.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Defensive Handgun III from ITTS or equivalent from an ITTS recognized school. Current LE/MIL may be exempt – please contact us to confirm.

- Review of existing skills
- Proper setup and maintenance of a Red Dot Sight
- Pros and cons of using a RDS vs iron sights
- RDS specific malfunction clearances
- Strong and weak hand shooting
- Multiple threat engagement
- Varied distance shooting from 7- 135 yards
- ITTS hostage rack
- Shooting on the move
- Rapid target engagement
- Man on man shoot off
- Shooting from unconventional positions
Equipment needed:
- Cleaned and oiled pistol at least 9mm in caliber.
- Properly mounted Red Dot Sight (Must be mounted prior to class).
- The manual for your RDS and any tools it came with
- Supressor (tall) iron sights as backup for RDS (Highly recommended!)
- Three or more magazines
- Holster and belt or duty rig (Make sure your holster works with your RDS pistol)
- Magazine pouch
- Eye and ear protection
- 400 rounds of factory ammunition
*A limited number of RDS pistol rentals are available for this class. If you will need a RDS rental you must call 310-446-1390 before signing for this class up to verify we have one available for you.

Student Application Once class tuition has been paid, all new students must complete an online student application prior to training. Returning students that have completed an application within the last year are exempt.
