Students will be working with extremely complex problems and will be tutored by our very experienced instructors who have done this in the “real world”. Students will be asked to think through tactical problems and react to constantly changing scenarios. Some of the exercises will be force on force and some will be live fire. For five days students will be exposed to scenarios where critical thinking and decisive action are necessary to be successful.
Our dual rail attack system replicating high-speed closure from edged weapon attacks, high speed mover, obstacle course with multiple shooting positions, night time donga trail and the shoot house will be utilized for both day and night evolutions.

Day Four
What it's like to be in a real shooting and what are the after effects of a shooting?
Re-enactments of real shootings that have transpired will be presented to the class with you as the shooter and the instructors as the suspects. Air Soft will be used. An experienced detective from the L.A.P.D.’s RHD will demonstrate walk-throughs, will gather statements, contain the “crime” scene and do an O.I.S. reconstruction. Evidence will be contained and a crime scene will be established in the same way they are in real shootings. Students find out exactly what happens if you are ever involved in a deadly force encounter.
Day Five
Sergeant Andy Markel, the Officer-in-Charge of the Tactics Unit from the LAPD Academy, will work with students one on one teaching tactical skills. Students will learn how to rescue an officer or hostage. This includes tactics, dialogue between hostage taker and you and critical shot set up and placement. We will use a vehicle for hostage rescue with cover teams set up. During these rescues, an experienced EMT will demonstrate emergency medical techniques for an injured officer/hostage in a critical situation with hands on demonstrations. Students will have the opportunity to do emergency medical evaluation and treatment and hostage rescue under duress.
