What Students Say

Our Story

ITTS was born out of necessity when co-founders Brett McQueen and Scott Reitz recognized that too many people, both civilians and those in professions using firearms, were not nearly as proficient as they needed to be—proficiency that would be demanded of them in a real gunfight.

From the moment you arrive to train with us, we do our utmost to make you feel like a welcomed and valued member of the ITTS family. The camaraderie built between our staff and students is very much the fabric of the ITTS experience.

We developed and honed the ITTS training system to provide the most comprehensive and effective training based on professional, real-world experience. Our training has been adapted to reflect real-life encounters on the battlefield, in city streets, or in the home. Everything we teach has been tested by those whose very survival depends on implementing the most effective techniques in a deadly force encounter.

Everyone we train, whether a first-time civilian shooter or an experienced operator, is given individual attention and the confidence to achieve a higher level of understanding on how to survive a gunfight. Those of our students who have been involved in deadly force encounters have not only survived, but have performed admirably and within the confines of the law.

Safety is strictly enforced on our range. When you attend a class, you will be taught the safest method of training available anywhere. We have a high staff-to-student ratio, so someone is always close by.

No matter who you are, we have a program that will fit your needs!

You put your trust in us.

We maintain it by delivering safe and practical real world techniques in a no-nonsense approach.

Scott Reitz is a 30 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police department. Scott received his Bachelors degree from the University of New Mexico and shortly thereafter joined the ranks of the Los Angeles Police Department. During his first few years, he worked both Wilshire and Van Nuys divisions as a heroin expert and a member of the Special Problems Unit. He was accepted into the elite Metropolitan Division a few years later and remained there for the duration of his career. Shortly after his acceptance into Metro he advanced into ‘D’ platoon (SWAT). He remained there for ten years until he was upgraded as the primary firearms and tactics instructor for the whole of Metro division and all LAPD advanced in-service firearms/tactics training. On an average year, Scott conducted the accelerated and advanced firearms and tactics training for over 7,000 officers a year and he did this for fifteen years with a perfect safety record. He has established training programs for numerous entities which have proven to be imminently successful.
